

The first Holmebuild branch, at Honley near Holmfirth was opened in June 2006 and with the acquisition of a team of highly motivated and experienced staff was quickly able to become established as an integral player in the building and DIY market around the Home Valley and beyond. This was quickly followed by the opening of the Saddleworth branch in July 2008 and again our knowledgable local staff have ensured that this has continued the Holmebuild success story.



We are proud to be closely associated with numerous local sporting organisations by way of sponsorship. We consider our business to be an integral part of the local community and as such are keen to be connected to some of the prominent sports teams in the area both at junior and senior level. Holmebuild are very active in the sponsorship of local cricket clubs including Holmfirth CC, Clayton West CC, Delph & Dobcross CC and Scholes CC.



Holmebuild took on the famous Three Peaks challenge to raise cash for charity. Five workers from Holme Build Britain’s three tallest peaks in aid of the COINS Foundation.
The construction charity develops buildings in poor nations around the world, including the in earthquake hit Haiti. The Holme Valley team including Andy Skelton, James Noble, Gordon Behrens, Joe Morris and Mark Frith were among 40 teams taking part in the challenge to scale Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdonia in 24 hours. They were helped by two drivers Neil Worthington and Andy Dick. The team raised £5,000 after completing the charity effort in 25 hours 11 minutes.
Andy said: “The weather was appalling on all three mountains, a lot of teams had to drop out but we carried on. We’re feeling a bit rough now but thankful we finished it.”


April 2011 saw the official opening our AWARD WINNING patio & paving centre at our Honley depot. It was officially opened by: Jason McCartney MP for Colne Valley. Customers enjoyed FREE bacon buttes all morning and Free curry tasting during the afternoon. Live demonstrations were given on a wide selection of power tools along with on hand expert help and advise from our patio & landscaping team. We also used this opportunity to celebrate our 5th Anniversary for the Honley branch.


Local Trade and DIY supplies firm, Holme Build has been shortlisted for the highly coveted Builder’s Merchants Award of Excellence 2011.
The awards, which celebrate outstanding achievement within the industry and the accomplishments of entrepreneurial Merchants, will hold their Award Ceremony on November 25th in Central London. The website, created by Worthington Brown, hugely increased footfall through each of the three local depots, as users are now more aware of what is on offer and it has successfully broken down the Trade barrier.


Celebrating 10 years at our Honley site, it was ‘Patio Time’ again on the 15th April till the 17th. Holding our annual ‘Mad Weekend’, free bacon butties and burgers were available all day as our customers took advantage of our expert practical advice and technical tools while helping themseleves to some great offers on the day such as 450×450 paving from 99p and Indian Natural stone from £8.





In 2018, we refitted the front of a Delph branch giving it a new lease of life, as well as a new sign.

Holmebuild is proud to announce the opening of a brand new plumbing division at the Honley site. The recruitment of Darren Walkden, who possesses many years of experience in plumbers merchants, will ensure the required level of expertise and he has already made rapid progress in expanding the product range to include key items such as radiators, cylinders, boilers and much, much more.



Our Electrical Centre is headed up by John Bowen who has 38 years of industry knowledge. John is a keen Archaeologist in his spare time, and has even appeared alongside They think it’s all over’s Rory McGrath on BBC Knowledge.
