2006: Holmebuild’s first branch opens in Honley
Our first ever branch opened up in Honley near Holmfirth, with a small but highly motivated team ready to become established players in the building and DIY market across the Holme Valley and beyond.
2008: Delph branch opens
In July 2008 we opened up our second branch in Delph as timber specialists providing a vast selection of timber products to both trade and the public.
2008: Sponsors of the Underbank Rangers
We proudly sponsored the Underbank Rangers Rugby League team showing our support for other local organisations. Our active involvement extends to supporting other teams at both junior and senior levels including local cricket teams such as Holmfirth CC, Clayton West CC, Delph & Dobcross CC, and Scholes CC.
2011: Nominated for Builder’s Merchant Award of Excellence
We were proud to be shortlisted for the highly coveted Builder’s Merchant Award of excellence and recognised for our amazing achievements within the industry.
2011: 5th Anniversary of Mad Weekend
Jason McCartney officially opened up our award winning patio & paving centre at our Honley depot. Our hands on team gave live demonstrations on a selection of power tools, customers enjoyed free bacon butties in the morning with free curry tasting in the afternoon and we took the opportunity to celebrate our 5th Anniversary of the Honley branch!
2011: 3 Peaks Challenge
We took on the famous 3 peaks challenge and completed it in under 25 hours, raising over £5,000 for the COINS Foundation. Andy Skelton, James Noble, Gordon Behrens, Joe Morris and Mark Frith made up team Holmebuild and were among 40 teams taking part in the challenge to scale Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdonia in 24 hours. Even though the weather wasn’t on our side we were thankful to finish the challenge and raise money for an amazing construction charity that develops buildings in poor nations around the world.
2016: Mad Weekend returns for our 10th Anniversary
Mad weekend returned and so did the free bacon butties! This time we were celebrating our 10th anniversary of our Honley site. Customers were able to make the most of of our expert practical advice and technical tools while helping themselves to some great offers on the day such as 450×450 paving from 99p and Indian Natural stone from £8!
2017: New signs at the Honley Branch
Our Honley branch got a fresh new look thanks to our new, modern signage!
2018: Delph Branch Makeover
The front of the Delph branch was refitted giving it a new lease of life, as well as a new sign.
2019: New Landscaping Display Fitted
We fitted a new outdoor display, showcasing a variety of our landscaping supplies in a visually appealing way to all our customers.
2019: Plumbing Division Launched
Darren Walkden joined the team bringing many years of plumbers merchant experience with him. His expertise allowed for rapid growth within the division expanding the product range to include key items such as radiators, cylinders, boilers and much, much more.
2020: Electrical Division Launched
John Bowen brought over 40 years of experience to our new electrical division making sure customers have all the electrical products they need to complete their next project!
2020: Coronavirus
Holmebuild were fortunate enough to remain open during the pandemic serving customers in store whilst keeping to social distancing regulations. For those unable to come to the store we also offered a delivery service to the Holme Valley. Our new mascot reggie also helped lift our customers spirits!
2024: We’ve launched our new Website!
The launch of our new website! Our website went under construction to bring customers an improved experience when shopping for all building, landscaping and DIY supplies for your next project.
